RNAseq of different potato cultivars inoculated with Alternaria solani

Early blight disease in potato is one of the notorious diseases that cause severe yield and quality loss worldwide. It is caused by the necrotrophic fungal pathogen Alternaria solani. To understand the genes and pathways involved in early blight resistance or susceptibility, we inoculated three potato cultivars that have different levels of resistance to early blight with Alternaria solani spores at controlled conditions. The inoculated and control leaf samples were collected post 18 and 36 hours and performed the RNAseq. to understand the gene expression pattern and pathways in different potato cultivars.
