The goal was to assess the impact of colonization by Akkermansia muciniphila on the gut microbiota of two distinct complex microbiomes in C57BL/6J mice and the subsequent effects on CNS autoimmunity. Germ-free mice were colonized by A. muciniphila-free cecum stocks and A. muciniphila bacteria. Fecal samples were collected for 16S sequencing.
