We request 50 ksec of XMM EPIC + RGS observing time to complete thecharacterization of the important HD 61005 stellar system. First detected in thex-ray by the ROSAT All Sky Survey and then imaged by Chandra in February 2021the system has demonstrated tantalizing evidence for extension and line emissiondue to charge exchange x-rays. Positive results from the observations would leadto the first confirmed detection of x-rays emitted by the interaction betweenthe dense winds of a young ZAMS G-star???s astrosphere interacting withinstreaming galactic material of a local interstellar cloud and what our ownheliosphere might look like from the outside. The proposed observation is welltailored to XMM as it makes full use of its low energy spectral response and high spectral resolution. [truncated! Please see actual data for full text]
