Oceanographic Data from the Central Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska Sampled by the R/V Kaiyo maru during the Summer and Fall 2003

Oceanographic data were collected in the central Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska by the Japanese R/V Kaiyo maru from June to September 2003. The R Kaiyo maru used a SBE9+ CTD (98 CTD casts) to collect temperature and salinity data from 0 to 1,500 m (3,000 m in leg 3) or 0 to near sea floor. In addition, sea surface salinity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen were measured continuously aboard the R/V Kaiyo maru with an Electronic Particle Counting and Sizing System (EPCS, data stored once per minute).
