Amplicon sequencing for bacterial and ciliophoran assemblages under fish carcasses in the tidal flat across the Japan archipelago

Animal carcasses are important sources of energy and nutrients for microbial organisms. Consequently, distinct microbial communities develop underneath the carcasses in tidal flats. This project aimed to elucidate the taxonomic compositions of bacteria and ciliophoran assemblages developed on and around the fish carcasses placed experimentally at seven tidal flats across the archipelago. The present data set describes the results of these examinations.
