OpenLandMap

OpenLandMap (OLM) is an Open Land Data service hosted by OpenGeoHub that provides access to datasets and spatial layers that cover global land mass. OLM strives to integrate, harmonize, and process the wide range of publicly available, global legacy land data (land cover, vegetation, soil, climate, terrain data and similar) using state-of-the-art Machine Learning algorithms. The process uses a federated approach that involves researchers and programmers from a variety of organizations and institutions. Efforts are made to ensure data are Analysis-Ready and Cloud-Optimized such that they are of the highest quality, fully documented, and optimized for web-services and advanced analysis. The resulting datasets and layers are presented as a stack of gridded environmental layers that are organized around themes, such as Land Cover and Land Use, Physical Infrastructure, Geology and Soils, and Population Distribution. They are accessed from the OML portal and, unless otherwise specified, are open data, licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL) and/or Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-SA) by the OpenGeoHub Foundation. This allows users to copy, distribute, transmit and adapt data for use provided they credit OpenLandMap.org and its contributors.
