For axial piston pumps, the three primary failure modes are wear, fatigue, and aging. This study supplements the failure mode system of piston pumps by adding corrosion failure as the fourth typical failure mode. To expand the influence of the high-pressure axial piston pump failure case database platform—a specialized database for hydraulic components—and better serve mechanical engineering enterprises while fully applying modern information management technologies to business operations, Jilin University conducted further research on the theoretical knowledge of axial piston pumps, performed detailed disassembly and analysis of axial piston pumps, and collected and summarized a large number of piston pump failure cases feedback from enterprises. Subsequently, the four failure modes of piston pumps are elaborated in detail using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). This work aims to improve the informatization and intelligent management level of the high-pressure axial piston pump failure case database, optimize the office environment and business processing efficiency of information-based applications, and lay a solid foundation for the scientific and technological development of the high-pressure axial piston pump failure case database management business.
