资源简介:
This dataset supports the investigation on the effects of interventions aimed at promoting physical activity and improving various health-related outcomes (particularly physical fitness, body composition, sleep, parent-child activity levels and relationship) in young populations starting from preschool years. Data were included in 4 separate excel files, representing 4 main chapters presented in the PhD thesis. The first excel file contains data from a systematic review and meta-analysis that examined the effectiveness of wearable activity trackers on increasing physical activity levels in children and adolescents. A total of 21 eligible studies were included in this review, where individual study data were extracted to synthesize effect sizes on different physical activity parameters (one excel sheet per outcome, namely objectively measured moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, daily step counts, counts per minute, and light physical activity, subjectively measured moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, as well as objectively measured sedentary time). The second excel file contains preliminary data of an ongoing cluster randomized controlled trial that investigated the effectiveness of a preschool-based physical activity intervention on improving preschoolers' physical fitness and body composition. Data at baseline (0-month) and post-intervention (10-month) were provided from preschoolers recruited in the first 3 years of the study, while data at follow-up (16-month) were provided from preschoolers recruited in the first 2 years. The third excel file contains preliminary data for a secondary analysis of the cluster randomized control trial, to examine the effect of school-based physical activity on preschoolers' objectively measured sleep quality. It also aimed to establish epidemiological data on the objective sleep quality among Chinese preschoolers. Data measured at baseline (0-month) and post-intervention (10-month) was provided from participants recruited in the first 2 years. The last excel file contains initial data of a study that explored the potential impact of the preschooler-focused physical activity program with family components, on promoting parent-child physical activity levels and relationships. Data contains physical activity levels of children and parents, as well as parent-child relationships measured at baseline (0-month) and post-intervention (10-month), provided from a randomly selected subsample of parents and preschoolers from the ongoing cluster randomized controlled trial.
