The aim of the proposed experiments is to quantify the distribution of Cu and Zn between fluids and silicate melts to evaluate the efficiency of their extraction upon the degassing of arc magmas. Such experimental data are necessary to develop thermodynamic models of degassing and ore-forming processes and ultimately improve our predictive capacities for new mineral resources that are necessary to the transition to cleaner energies.
