Raw data from an AC-DC EPG monitor on the feeding behavior of Euschistus heros

Raw data files from an AC-DC EPG monitor, from an experiment carried out for 72 hours to evaluate the effect of a chemical insecticide on the behaviour of Euschistus heros feeding on soybean pods. Two groups were evaluated: untreated and treated with the insecticide; each group consisted of twenty adults of E. heros. The waveforms associated with the feeding behaviour are described as follows: Z (non-probing): Insect standing still or walking on plant surface; Eh1 (pathway): Penetration of stylets and salivary sheath secretion; Eh2 (ingestion): Xylem sap ingestion; Eh3a (salivation): Cellular laceration and enzymatic maceration of seed endosperm; Eh3b (ingestion): Short ingestion of macerated tissues of seed endosperm; Eh4 (ingestion): Short ingestion from an unknown site (probably phloem).
