资源简介:
The Diablito poison frog (Oophaga sylvatica) is found in southwestern Colombia and northwestern Ecuador in humid tropical forests. It is a chemically defended and aposematic frog that displays notable life history traits, such as maternal care that involves depositing tadpoles individually in bromeliad pools and returning to feed them unfertilized eggs. Furthermore, this species shows remarkable morphological diversity in their size and coloration. This sample is from a male bred in captivity in Ecuador by Wikiri, and was collected and coordinated by Lauren O'Connell to generate a high-quality reference genome for projects relating to spatial navigation, development of functional genetic tools in poison frogs, and juvenile aggression. Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted by Dovetail Genomics in Santa Cruz, California. Along with the sequencing and assembled O. sylvatica genome, this Bioproject includes gene expression analysis from the liver, skin, and intestines of field-caught individuals of O. sylvatica across three different locations, which were used to understand the expression pattern of various alkaloid-binding genes that may be involved in chemical defense.
