本数据是美国地球物理数据中心（NGDC）提供的地磁三小时Ap指数数据，Ap指数与Kp类似，且它们存在对应转化关系，但它改变了Kp指数与磁扰幅度非线性的关系的。地磁ak指数，也叫“等效的三小时幅度”，是单台站磁场扰动减去太阳日变化Sq和太阴日变化L后的纯磁扰曲线最高值和最低值来确定的磁扰幅度，单位nT。
