Quantifying island-wide population structure in sponge-dwelling E. horsti

Elacatinus horsti (Yellowline goby) is a cryptobenthic fish native to the western Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, known for its close association with tube and massive sponges. The primary aim of this study is to investigate patterns of population structure in E. horsti. To achieve this, tissue samples were collected from E. horsti at six distinct sites along the leeward side of the island of Curacao. By understanding their population structure, we may draw conclusions about the genetic connectivity of this species across the reefscape.
