The dataset includes individual measurements of structural planes and lines that were collected in the vicinity of Zalamea de la Serena (Extremadura, Spain) in 2021 and 2022. Measurements were taken both from the Precambrian and Paleozoic metamorphic basement. This structural dataset was collected during fieldwork campaigns aimed at mapping major structures developed during the Cadomian and Variscan orogenies in the region. The dataset is divided into separate spreadsheets, which included the following measurements: • S0: bedding or primary planar anisotropies related to sedimentation. The dataset includes a specific spreadsheet for data obtained from within the Central Iberian Zone (CIZ), and is divided by the age of the strata (Cambrian, Ordovician, and Devonian). • SC3: foliation formed during the third phase of Cadomian deformation in the region. • LsC3: stretching lineation related to the foliation formed during the third phase of Cadomian deformation in the region. • LmC3: mineral lineation related to the foliation formed during the third phase of Cadomian deformation in the region. • SV1: foliation formed during the first phase of Variscan deformation in the region. • DV1 fold axes: axes of folds formed during the first phase of Variscan deformation in the region. • Li_S0-SV1: intersection lineation between bedding (S0) and SV1 foliation, which indicates the local orientation of the DV1 fold axes. • SV2: foliation formed during the second phase of Variscan deformation recognized in the region, which is usually a crenulation cleavage. • DV2 fold axes: axes of folds formed during the second phase of Variscan deformation in the region. • SV3: foliation formed during the third phase of Variscan deformation in the region. • LsV3: stretching lineation related to the foliation formed during the third phase of Variscan deformation in the region. • LmV3: mineral lineation related to the foliation formed during the third phase of Variscan deformation in the region. • DV3 fold axes: axes of folds formed during the third phase of Variscan deformation in the region. • DV3 fold axes: axes of folds formed during the third phase of Variscan deformation in the region. • LcV3: crenulation lineation related to the development of SV3. It represents the axes of folds formed during the third phase of Variscan deformation in the region. Plane orientations are reported by their dip direction and dip, whereas line orientations are described by their trend and plunge. The location of each individual measurement is provided using the ETRS89 Datum (UTM Zone 30) and expressed in UTM coordinates (in meters), including Northing and Easting.
