资源简介:
Samples from features at Corn Creek, site 26CK2605, in the Corn Creek Field Station, Desert National Wildlife Refuge in Clark County, southern Nevada, were submitted for pollen, phytolith, macrofloral (including charcoal identification), and organic residue analyses. Organic residues were examined using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. Charred remains recovered from the macrofloral samples were submitted for AMS radiocarbon dating. This site is very large and contains numerous loci and features. Analyses were conducted to address questions of subsistence, especially the question of farming at the site. Pollen, starch, phytolith, macrofloral, and organic residue (FTIR) analyses yield information concerning plant resources that were utilized and/or cultivated at the site. A total of eight AMS radiocarbon dates were obtained, providing evidence for multiple occupations of the area.
