<p>Basic data from specimen labels on all the sheets currently held in PSUB collection shown together with digital images from high resolution scans of each sheet.</p>
<p>Characeae is a family of freshwater green algae in the order Charales, commonly known as stoneworts. They are also known as brittleworts from the fragility of their lime-encrusted stems. The most commonly recorded species belong to the genera Chara and Nitella</p>
