The epitope-specific rabbit monoclonal anti-histone H2B (acetyl K20) antibody ab52988 bound to the 21-mer H2B peptide acetylated at lysine residues 5, 12, 15 and 20, as analyzed by ELISA and Intel peptide array. The 21-mer H2B peptide acetylated at lysine residues 5, 12, 15 and 20 inhibited ab52988 binding to the acetylated 21-mer H2B peptide in the Intel array. The unmodified 21-mer peptide was not recognized by the antibody and did not inhibit binding.
