The BELSAR dataset is a high-resolution airborne single-station and bistatic fully polarimetric L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) dataset funded and developed by the European Space Agency (ESA), which aims to address the lack of publicly accessible experimental datasets in the fields of agriculture and hydrology. This dataset contains SAR data collected in maize and winter wheat fields across Belgium during the summer of 2018, alongside simultaneously measured vegetation and soil biogeophysical variables. The creation of the BELSAR dataset involved data acquisition using an airborne multi-station SAR system operated by MetaSensing BV, and data processing via the MetaSAR-Pro software.
