The genome of Phlebotomus chinensis, an important vector of leishmaniasis in China

Phlebotomus chinensis is the primary vector of leishmaniasis in China and exhibits a wide distribution. Whole genome sequencing serves as the foundation for identifying key molecules associated with pathogen transmission and vector control. In this study, we employed Nanopore third-generation sequencing in conjunction with Illumina next-generation sequencing to achieve the first complete whole-genome sequence of P. chinensis. We assembled high-quality genomes and conducted Hi-C mapping at the chromosome level to aid in assembly.
