Ralstonia solanacearum phages UAM5 and UAM8 were previously isolated from plantain rhizosphere soils in Colombia. We propagated and purified them through the double-agar-layer and phenol:chloroform method using a virulent R. solanacearum strain UA1591. Library preparation and genomic sequencing were performed in Admera Health, USA through an Illumina HiSeq X platform with 2x150bp read length. We assembled and annotated UAM5's genome with SPAdes v. and RAST, respectively.
