Supplementary Material I - Data for: "Urban fire outbreaks and biodiversity: The role of habitat suitability in fire incidence across a tropical metropolis

This repository contains the Supplementary Material I (Supplementary_material_I_fire_data) cited in the article: Urban fire outbreaks and biodiversity: The role of habitat suitability in fire incidence across a tropical metropolis - Bhakti, T., Pena, J.C., and Rodrigues M. (2025). Dataset Description:This dataset contains 9,877 records of fire outbreaks in urban vegetation within the municipality of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, from 2011 to 2020. The data was provided by the Minas Gerais State Fire Department (Corpo de Bombeiros Militar de Minas Gerais - CBMMG). The records, in point format, represent occurrences in vacant lots, public and private green spaces, brownfields, and protected areas. This data was used in the study to analyze the frequency of fire outbreaks in relation to the five suitability levels of the Urban Biodiversity Suitability (UBS) Index (10.1007/s11252-023-01446-5).
