The English grain aphid, Sitobion avenae, is a major agricultural pest of cereals, and is a major vector of Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus (BYDV), which can lead to reductions in grain yield. The goal of this study was to produce a high quality annotated genome assembly of Sitobion avenae to facilitate research into mechanisms of insecticide resistance.
