In Aedes albopictus exogenous expression of the male determining factor Nix is sufficient to convert karyotypic female into phenotypic males. This feature have allowed us to create a genetic sexing strain (GSS) in which a loss-of-function yellow mutation is recovered exclusively for males.This SRA contains sex-specific, whole body CDS transcriptome of the WT and the GSS mosquitoes.
