Micromonospora sp. M42. Micromonospora sp. M42 was isolated from the sponge Acanthostrongylophora. Micromonospora sp. M42 produces the antimalaria compound manzamine A as well as other potentially useful antibiotics. The genome sequence of this organism will provide information on the production and regulation of these compounds.
