An intestinal T effector cell subset leading to cancer initiation

Here, we revealed that an intestinal T cell subset, derived from already differentiated TH17 cells, induces the spontaneous transformation of the healthy epithelium. This subset produces a large panel of inflammatory cytokines and its tumorigenic potential is dependent on the transcriptional factors KLF6 and T-BET. Single cell RNA sequencing was performed in FACS purified Th17 cells.
