Bar of approximately circular
cross-section made of iron from Hauskirchen. The bar is part of the grave goods belonging to grave 13, the burial of a 25- to
30-year-old woman, which is one of the richest
burials of the Migration Era known in the Middle Danube Region. Together
with a set of fittings and leather straps it formed harnesses and
bridles for two
horses. One end of the bar is widened conically and has circular
perforations in front of this widening, the other end is only slightly
widened in one plane and has an oval perforation. Iron rings with an almost circular cross-section and pointed, slightly overlapping ends are suspended in both recesses. The length of the rod is 41.5 cm, the thickness of the rod in the centre is 1.75 cm. The width of the conical end is 3.1 cm, the width of the other end is 2.2 cm. The ring at the conical end measures 6.25 cm, the ring at the other end measures 5.6 cm. The bar is part of the grave goods belonging to a grave of a 25- to 30-year-old woman, which is one of the richest
burials of the Migration Era known in the Middle Danube Region. Together with a set of fittings and leather straps it formed harnesses and bridles for two
horses.
