Improvement of fish cold-tolerant capacity is significant to attenuate the inhibition of cold environment to their growth. In fact, this is closely related with understanding fish cold-tolerant mechanism, while such information is still limited for turbot Scophthalmus maximus, which is a highly commercially valuable flatfish in China and Europe. In this study, meio-gynogenetic diploid turbot were tested at -1°C to obtain the cold-tolerant (CT) and cold-sensitive (CS) groups. Their differential responses at the transcriptome level were then analyzed.transcriptomics-scale response regulated by miRNA-TF-mRNA network might enhance muscle/cardiac function, thus giving turbot a greater capability of cold tolerance.
