IRAS 06269-0543 is a flat-spectrum radio-loud (RL) narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy(NLS1) that is classified as an ultra-luminous infrared galaxy in the finalstages of a merging event. As such it is a prime candidate in which to explorethe existence of a low- or intermediate-spin black hole (a and amp lt 0.9) yet it hasnever benefited from a deep exposure. We request a simultaneous NuSTAR (150 ks)+ XMM (120 ks) observation to istinguish ( and amp gt 99.9% confidence) two competingphysical scenarios facilitate the precise measurement (within 10%) of spin andenable tests that explore black hole spin evolution. The observation will makea significant contribution to the under-sampled class of RL-NLS1s providingimportant broadband information on the properties of this interesting type of active galaxy.
