M51 ULX-7 is one of the few known Pulsating Ultraluminous X-ray Sources (PULXs).With a spin period of 2.8 s M51 ULX-7 is a persistent PULX making it wellsuited for deeper studies and the ideal target for new observations. During ourAO20 observations the source showed a strong quasi-periodic feature but no spinpulsations. Very likely the QPO feature plays an important role in suppressingthe pulsations. With the requested observations we aim at detecting at least oneof the (a)rythmic pulses of M51 ULX-7 and to study their evolution. In order tomaximise the probability of detecting both features we ask for two pointings ofM51 ULX-7 one in each AO23 XMM visibility window. [truncated! Please see actual data for full text]
