资源简介:
Nine-hundred sixty Allanblackia stuhlmannii (Clusiaceae) seeds were planted inside 12 different 50x50 m submontane rainforest plots in the Amani Nature Reserve, Tanzania, and seed fate was recorded at regular intervals up to 11 months after planting. Seed mass was measured immediately before planting. At each census, individual seeds were noted as present or missing, and if present, seed condition was recorded (intact, scarified, less than one-third of the seed eaten, more than one-third of the seed eaten, or rotten). Condition of missing seeds was presumed “unknown”, since seeds may have been cached intact elsewhere. The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effectiveness of enrichment planting using seeds, as well as the extent to which its success varies with ecological context such as background fruit abundance and rodent activity (see other datasets from the same authors).
