The Greek Banking System in 2011 and 2012

In the study “The Greek Banking System in 2011 and 2012”, the Hellenic Bank Association analyses the structure and operating conditions of the modern Greek banking system, its contribution in the Greek economic and social progress and the international presence of Greek banks in the countries of South-eastern Europe, Turkey and the rest countries that they operate. In this study, the challenges faced by the banking system are recorded. Also, in the section of the specific issues, four articles, analyses and studies are included, concerning: liquidity, bank recapitalisation and recovery of the Greek economy, the survival strategy of the Greek banking system in an environment of unprecedented challenges, the possibility of further deleveraging of the Greek banking system in the current economic conditions and credit and financial circles in Greece. The same section is completed with 21 questions and answers related to the operation of the Greek banking system, spaced out in the following sections: i.
