Transfer RNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs) are important regulators of a variety of biological functions, however, it is yet unclear how tsRNAs work to cause pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The goal of the current study was to gain a better understanding of how tsRNAs contribute to PAH pathogenesis. A rat model of PAH induced by monocrotaline (MCT) was established, and right ventricular tissues were obtained. Small RNA microarray was used to get the tsRNA expression profiles of the PAH group and the control group. Quantitative reverse transcription-PCR (real-time PCR) was used to confirm the results. Subsequently, the target genes of the 10 selected tsRNAs and their biological functions were then predicted using bioinformatics techniques.
