Recent advances in next-generation sequencing technologies have led to the detection of complex chromosome rearrangements (CCRs) consisting of three or more chromosome breaks in clinical samples from patients with cancer and congenital diseases. However, the pathogenic mechanisms of these diseases are largely unknown, and the establishment of appropriate animal models is essential for their elucidation. In this study, we aimed to establish an optimal experimental system to induce the intended CCRs in mice with high accuracy.
