Genomics of social evolution in halictid bees

We sequence and annotate the genomes of 15 species of bees from the family Halictidae including six social species, seven solitary species, and two socially polymorphic species. In addition, we resequence the genomes of between five and nine individuals for each of 13 of these species in order to obtain population genomic information. By comparing these genomes, we identify the genetic underpinnings of social evolution in this group of bees.
