The natural Park of Sierre de Guadarrama (near Madrid) Spain possess a granitic plateau which contain several natural "pools". This pools are extremes environments because they are sometimes dry and very hot during summer and on another hand under ice and snow during winter. We collected 22 samples from different pools. Some samples are dry sediments, some are mosses and lichen, and finally some contain even soil and roots.
