Dog Control in Public Areas Dogs must be kept under effective control at all times. Effective control means the person in charge of the dog has the dog under continuous surveillance and is able to obtain an immediate and desired response from the dog by use of a leash, voice commands, hand signals, whistles or other effective means. Dogs are PROHIBITED: Within 10m of any children’s playground or playground equipment; Within 10m of any public toilets; Within 10m of any public swimming pool; At all council camping grounds other than those specified. Dogs must be on a LEASH: In all settlements; In all council cemeteries.
