Replication data for Measuring Foreign Exposure (Imbs & Pauwels, 2025, Journal of International Economics)

This archive contains the raw input data required to replicate all results in Imbs and Pauwels (2025), "Measuring Foreign Exposure," Journal of International Economics. It bundles three third-party sources, arranged in the exact folder structure expected by the replication code: WIOD World Input–Output Tables, November 2016 release (WIOT, 2000–2014), converted from the original XLSB to CSV; WIOD Socio-Economic Accounts, 2016 release (SEA), including sector-level value added, price indices, and labour compensation; and IMF implied PPP conversion rates (WEO variable PPPEX, national currency per international dollar), World Economic Outlook, October 2019 vintage. The accompanying analysis code (MATLAB, Stata, Python) is hosted separately at https://github.com/laurentpauwels/foreignexposure. To reproduce the paper, download and unzip this archive into the repository's matlab/data/raw/ folder so that the paths documented in the repository README resolve, then run the scripts as described there. These data are redistributed for replication purposes only. They remain the property of their original providers and are governed by those providers' terms: the WIOD 2016 release is distributed by the Groningen Growth and Development Centre under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence, and the IMF World Economic Outlook data are reproduced under the IMF's data-reuse terms with attribution to the IMF. This deposit archives, and does not relicense, the underlying data. Please cite the original sources (see References) in addition to the article and this dataset.
