Major and traces analyses of lavas from Central Afar field missions between 2012 and 2023

This database contains trace and major element measurements carried out on lava samples from the Central Afar Rift in Ethiopia. The samples come from the CRPG laboratory collections (Nancy France) acquired during Ethiopian field missions in 2012 2013 2015 and 2018. As well as from the 2023 field missions carried out as part of Sarah GOMMERY s thesis and as part of the MagmAfar project funded by the ANR. This database compiles the analyses of the magmatic units of Central Afar whose age is between 0.4 and 30 Ma - i.e. corresponding to the units of the Trapps the Miocene lavas and the Lower Intermediate Upper Stratoid and the Gulf Basalts defined in Sarah GOMMERY s thesis defended in June 2025 at the Sorbonne University to which I refer the lector
