IMPROVING LEGAL LIABILITY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL LAW VIOLATIONS: INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

This article analyzes ways to improve legal liability for violations of environmental legislation based on the experience of foreign countries. It examines the legal frameworks and practical approaches applied in the United States and several European countries with regard to criminal, administrative, and civil liability for environmental offenses. In particular, the legislation of Spain, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, and Poland is reviewed. The article also addresses the liability of legal entities for environmental offenses. Based on the analysis of foreign experience, proposals are put forward to improve the environmental legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
