The aim of the study was to determine whether a long-term dietary pattern can influence the composition of the gut microbiota. Stool samples were collected from subjects with four different dietary patterns (omnivorous (O), vegan (V), vegetarian (VE) and low-carbohydrate, high-fat (LCHF)) and the 16S rRNA V4 region was sequence using the Ion S5 System.
