Impact of a Brief Educational Intervention on Autism at the Preschool and Early Elementary Levels This dataset was collected as part of the research study titled "Impact of a Brief Educational Intervention on Autism at the Preschool and Early Elementary Levels." The study evaluated the effect of a brief, age-appropriate educational video intervention on neurotypical children's attitudes toward a peer with autism exhibiting stimming behaviors. The intervention was a video adaptation of the picture book Archie the Ant, developed by the author. The dataset was processed using Intellectus (2023) and contains anonymized responses from 124 students aged four to eight years (prekindergarten through second grade) from two public elementary schools in the Southeast United States. Participants were randomly assigned to either an intervention group, which viewed the educational video before responding, or a control group, which did not view the video before responding. Attitudes were measured using an abbreviated version of the Adjective Checklist (ACL) after exposure to a video clip of a peer exhibiting stimming behaviors. Data are provided in Excel format with an accompanying data dictionary explaining variables and scoring. All identifying information has been removed to protect participant privacy. This dataset may be useful for researchers studying autism inclusion, early childhood education, social-emotional learning (SEL), peer attitudes, or teaching with picture books (TPB).
