Based on a transactional understanding of (mis)information processing, we aim to review and classify the published evidence on person-level, information-level nad contextual determinants of social media users´ belief in the truthfulness of health-related misinformation. We will classify all findings into broad domains of drivers of such false beliefs (i.e., cognitive drivers: e.g, intuitive thinking, cognitive failures, illusory truth, socio-affective-contextual drivers: environmental cues, source cues, emotion, worldview; Ecker et al., 2022).
