Multiwavelength studies of Two Bright Novae in Outburst

Reconstructing the complete profile of a Classical Nova in outburst requiresobservations in different wavelength bands. We are a team of observers withaccess to radio, infrared, optical, and Xray telescopes. Xray observationsallow views into the deepest layers, where the outflow originates and where thewhite dwarf dominates the observations. We have found a large range of differentbehaviors from past grating observations and argue that only systematic Xraystudies of novae can give us a better understanding of the underlying processes.Novae contribute to the chemical and energetic budget of the interstellar mediumand they can be related to SNIa progenitors.
