This data is associated with the article "A new method of fruit marking for studies on chiropterochory" by Juliana Pereira Bezerra and Enrico Bernard, published in Biotropica.The table presents the number of chiropterocoric fruits marked with glitter in four different quadrants in Catimbau National Park, Pernambuco state, Brazilian Caatinga. Quadrants were at different distances from the entrance of the Meu Rei cave, a site holding a colony of Carollia perspicillata bats: Q1, at 3,200 m, marked with blue glitter; Q2, at 2,000 m, with lilac glitter; Q3, at 1,000 m, with gold glitter; and Q4, at 700 m, with red glitter. Fruits were marked based on their in situ availability, and the origin of the seeds/fruit pulp was based on the color of the glitter detected in eight 1-m2 collectors installed in the cave.
