PaleoMED20: A Database of Mediterranean Marine Sediment Cores For the Last 20,000 Years

The PaleoMED20 database is a comprehensive resource that consolidates metadata on marine sediment cores recovered from the Mediterranean Sea, spanning the last 20,000 years.

The database file consists of six Excel sheets:

1) Core Database – Contains the final core compilation; the data structure is described in the Metadata sheet.

2) Core Distribution – Describes the spatial distribution of cores across the Mediterranean Sea, based on information extracted from the database.

3) Paleoclimatic Data – Includes paleoclimatic information from the cores, such as proxies and climatic variables analyzed.

4) Metadata – Provides metadata for the file and its content.

5) Variables and Proxies – Lists all the variables and proxies compiled in the dataset.

6) Record Density – Presents a filtered version of the 'Paleoclimatic Data' sheet for assessing record density through time.
