Sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) are essential for biogeochemical cycling in various niches. SRBs interact with other anaerobes in these niches, forming complex networks that enhance nutrient availability and energy flow. Through 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, we studied four single colonies cultured from the sludge of a sulfate-reducing bioreactor.
