T2.30D-1.1 are two Rhizobium strain that have been isolated from the deep subsurface of the Iberian Pyrite Belt (SW Spain) in strict anaerobic conditions. The samples were taken from a drill core obtained at 538.5 and 492.6 meters below surface, during the Iberian Pyrite Belt Subsurface Life Detection project (IPBSL). It was isolated from a denitrifying (D) and methanogenic (MG) enrichment culture respectively in a H2:CO2 (80:20) atmosphere.
