Rather, all data are from Horse Corral UPD Colony in 2000 Note that I did not use UPD designations of 228 and 399 for this file These omissions were simple mistakes--of no significance. Everything in this file has now been checked TWO TIMES on 16 Sept 2020 UPD designation = my way of telling UPDs apart in this EXCEL file Each designation is for a unique UPD I used this file to compare UPD adult body masses during the 2000 mating season (<=15 April) vs UPD adult body masses at first juvenile emergences (>=15 May) in 2000 Body mass <=15 Apr = body mass just before, during, or just after mating season = Body mass during mating season Body mass >= 15 May = body mass just before, during, or just after juveniles were first emerging from natal nursery burrows = Body mass just before, during, or just after first juvenile emergences Sex = 1 = Male Sex = 2 = Female All body masses in GRAMS Data in this EXCEL file are from 2000 only; cumulative data from all years were also statistically significant for both males and females Adult body masses include information from 1-year olds (yearlings) and >=2-year olds. These data used for Fig 14.14 in Hoogland 2026. This file ready for longterm storage on 07 May 2025. I defined mating season as the time interval between (and including) first copulation and last copulation OLD File name = Marchwts vs Junewts, UPDs, Both sexes, 1993, 07 May 2025 Blank cell or <.> means missing data. Data on the same line are from the SAME UPD Age = number of years since first emergence from natal burrow-entrance In general I did not use any weights after 15 April in any year for body mass at mating. In a few cases, however, I used data for a few days after 15 April. I did NOT use data from females that were obviously far along in pregnancy (e.g., med teats)--but for NO males that copulated. I did use a few weights or several days after 15 April for a few nonbreeding yearling males and for a few females that were NOT far along in pregnancy (e.g., no teats, tiny teats, or small teats). Similarly, in general I did not use any weights before 15 May in an year. In a few cases, however, I use data a few days before 15 May. Wt = weight = body mass in grams File name = Fig 14.14, UPDs, Females and males, Adult body mass at mating vs weaning, 09 May 2026
