MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are highly conserved and single-stranded non-coding RNA molecules, bind to reverse complementary sequences to inhibit their target mRNAs at the post-transcriptional level. In this study, we conducted the high-throughput sequencing of genome-wide miRNAs in maize filling-kernel period for profiling their expression patterns and identifying related miRNAs in maize.
