Bacillus wiedmannii T8, belonging to Bacillus cereus group, was isolated from from soil samples in Qingdao city,Shandong province, Eastern China in July 2023. A copper-dependent lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase (LPMO) can break the glycosidic bonds of crystalline and/or chitin polysaccharides by oxidation, providing more active sites for the hydrolysis of other enzymes and opening up a new way for the utilization of biomass. We found that the synergistic action of LPMO and endochitinase from Bacillus cereus group can significantly improve the conversion efficiency of chitin to chitooligosaccharide.
